Exceeding ISO/IEC category 7/class F specifications, Siemon's fully shielded TERA end-to-end cabling solution is the highest-performing twisted-pair copper cabling system available. TERA supports performance to 10 Gb/s and beyond, far exceeding all performance requirements for 10GBASE-T.
Invented in 1999, long before its time and subsequently chosen as an industry standard interface for category 7, the Siemon TERA is by far the highest performing twisted-pair copper connector in the world. When installed as part of a TERA solution, each pair delivers almost 1.2 GHz per pair – twice the bandwidth of category 7 specifications. This extra bandwidth is critical for demanding applications like broadband video, high speed data and voice applications.
The TERA cabling system allows cable sharing by isolating each of the cable pairs. Cable sharing refers to the running of different applications over seperate pairs within the same cabling channel. Upto 4 simultaneous applications can be served from a single 4-pair cable saving significant materials, labour and space.
With the publication of the ISO/IEC 14165-114 application standard, Siemon's TERA® solution becomes the world's first and only cabling system capable of supporting two simultaneous Gigabit per second data applications over one 4-pair channel.
4-Pair TERA® Outlet
- Description
TERA is the industry’s highest performing network cabling connector.
TERA outlets separate each of the 4 cabling pairs and accept 1-, 2- and 4- pair plugs, enabling multiple applications to share the same high speed cabling channel.
The connector itself ensures proper termination of the cable shield, no additional crimping is necessary for grounding.
This system benefits from using the same high performance connector at either end of the cabling channel – work area and comms room

Tera-Max Patch Panel
- Description
19 inch TERA-MAX patch panels offer a high density modular patching solution, housing up to 24 ports in 1U of racking space. They accept any combination of 10G 6 Shielded MAX and Tera (CAT7) outlets.
Modules are securely grounded for maximum protection from interference as they are snapped into place. No secondary grounding is required so the overall termination time is reduced.
